Advice on FitD hacking an existing TTRPG IP

Does anyone here have experience making/releasing a FitD hack of another existing game system?

I started working on a my first hack, a conversion for W20 (Werewolf: the Apocalypse 20th Anniversary Edition) to FitD in early 2021 and I’m considering doing an Actual Play of it starting in a couple of weeks. I’m not planning on selling the hack, but I will be making it available to my paid Patreon supporters before I make it public.

I’m trying to figure out if there is a likelihood that the IP owners will come after us. I know a new edition of Werewolf (W5) is in active development (Paradox/White Wolf) and W20 is still releasing supplements (Onyx Path).

Any advice would be appreciated!

Hard to tell really. Are they litigious?
Someone here might know better than me, but I advice you ask in other places, like the Werewolf reddit for example. They might know if they’ve sued or issued copyright notices, or whatever it’s called, before.

I’m curious whether you went anywhere with this hack. I’m currently playing with a WtA conversion to PbtA and was considering rerouting to FitD. Now if I didn’t need to fully reinvent the wheel…that’d be sweet!

I’ll give access to my Google Drive for the docs. If you want to see it in action, we ran it on stream a couple of months ago. Let me know if you have any questions, I’m happy to answer them.
