N internet document identifies its author but says nothing about her or his qualifications, your textbook recommends that you cite the sponsoring organization instead of the author. type the authors name into the google search box. give up on this document and look for a different source. assume that the author is objective and unbiased. assume that the author is an expert on the topic.

I would type the author's name into the Google search box to find out more about them and their qualifications. If it is a well-known author/scientist/artist etc they will usually have their biography and their contributions ie give a historical understanding of them so it would be recommended to choose an internet document that is written by a well-known author but in any case, Google should have something on that person.
