So there’s this game design essay jam happening on itch.io. I’ve seen a lot of folks in the Blades in the Dark community puzzled about how to start making their own version of this game. There are a lot of moving parts and it can be quite intimidating to start, make changes, and charge money.
So I put together this little… Essay? Zine? Presentation? It’s meant to help folks when they first start hacking Blades, and covers some basic tips and resources that have helped me in the past. That time when I first started work on Neon Black feels… forever ago. I hope this helps some folks get started. It’s been a wild and educational ride for me.
