Is there any limit to the number of cohorts a crew can take? My current Bravos crew just spent their latest upgrades on a second gang of thugs, and I’m curious if they can just keep doing that.
There is no limit, at least in the rules. Upgrades you spend on cohorts won’t be spent on other kind of upgrades, and each cohort will bring its own problems with its flaws and fiction opportunities.

Cohorts are fragile. You can step in and defend them, but if you’re also in the group action, harm or consequences add up fast. The Dimmers broke our tier II cohort of adepts as a consequence of one group action and we were all so full up of harm ourselves we couldn’t effectively step in and save them.
